This Friday, October 10th, Seattle‘s Roq La Rue Gallery will host its second annual FANTASMAGORIA exhibition. The group show “devoted to the dark and dreamy” will feature works by an impressive roster of talent consisting of Martin Wittfooth, Esao Andrews, Brad Woodfin, Carles Gomila, Kim Slate, Ryan Heshka, Erika Sanada, Camille Rose Garcia, Kris Kuksi, Allison Reimold, Travis Louie, Jennybird Alcantara, Jason Puccinelli, Erik Sherman, Kari-Lise Alexander, Brian Despain, and Scott Musgrove.

The following statement comes from the gallery:

“One of the definitions of fantasmagoria (or phantasmagoria) references strange illusions that shift in a non-linear fashion, or a changing scene composed of many elements. It also harkens back to the late 1800’s/early 1900’s, when darkly delightful Victorian “spook shows” were all the rage and featured mechanical optical illusions to create “ghosts” or paranormal happenings. Lastly- it references bizarre hallucinations one might see, often in a feverish, half awake state.”
