King Gizzard Offering Free Livestream Of Field Of Vision Festival
The undefinable Australian 6-piece launches their inaugural multi-day festival in Colorado this weekend & want everyone to be able to experience it

Yet another example of how nobody on Earth is doing it quite like King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard! This weekend, the Australian 6-piece is throwing their innaugural Field Of Vision festival at Meadow Creek, a venue in Buena Vista, Colorado “nestled in the heart of The Rocky Mountains.” The multi-stage, multi-day event includes camping and performances by artists ranging from Ryley Walker and Hannah Cohen to White Fence and Jello Biafra. With a full day of activities and music, each night will also include a 3-hour marathon set: from King Gizzard themselves.
KGATLW are very aware of their base and the vibrant scene they have fostered, so this festival feels not only timely, but thorough in its design. From the range of artists on the lineup to the way the festival grounds are described as a complete environment encouraging “beach hangs” and “creek play” during the day and various entertainment, this place reads like a dream vacation that’s part resort/amusement park and part Rock festival. We can’t fully wrap our minds around it, but among the amenities/activities advertised are “acid yoga,” a record fair, late night cinema, and a zine workshop.
What really stands out about Gizz is their inclusiveness, not only sonically, but among the various demographics of their fanbase. They’ve always promoted diversity — Field Of Vision will host both a Drag Camp and a Drag Night (Sunday) — but, over time, it’s become more and more apparent that includes different financial demographics. Gizz is a rock band with class consciousness. There will be a tattooist working onsite throughout the weekend and, upon closer inspection, a portion of the proceeds earned will be going to a local Denver organization assisting people experiencing homelessness. Not only do the prices of the fest look to be surprisingly reasonable for something of this magnitude ($100 a day / $300 for a 3-day pass), but the band doesn’t want to shut out anyone looking to experience Field Of Vision. That’s why they will be live streaming the entire thing for FREE throughout the entire weekend.
Check your local times and lock into their official YouTube starting this Friday, August 15th. We wish we could have made it out for this, but this livestream is a tremendous and generous consolation. Thanks guys!
