Right from the jump, this Mark Sommerfield photograph grabbed my attention. It’s amazing. I love it.

Today, Brooklyn band GEESE announces their biggest headlining tour to date. According to the press release, there is also “a bold, powerful new record in the chamber that they’re ready to unleash.” Whether this imagery will be connected to the upcoming release, I don’t know, but it would make a lot of sense.

Titled the Getting Killed Tour, this Fall run of shows will launch in South Burlington, VT on October 10 and see the band traversing the US — along with a quick dip into Canada for a single Vancouver, BC date — before wrapping things up with a hometown show at Brooklyn Paramount on November 21st.

The band’s exceptional 2023 album, 3D Country, was a dynamic, layered release that doesn’t quite sound like anything else in the current musical climate. The type of singular effort likely to influence contemporaries, 3D Country helped raise their visibility, saw them booked for various festival dates, and even opening for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on their US tour. If you were able to catch them in a supporting slot, that’s great, but, from our experience, when it’s their show, with their crowd, it can be an entirely different animal. Their sets at Pickathon last year were high-energy affairs with bodies flying everywhere. One of them took place in a packed, sweaty barn, while the other was a smoke-filled, electric ritual in the middle of the woods. If their booking at Neumos in Seattle is any indicator of the other spaces they’ll be playing, then you should take the opportunity to catch them while they’re still performing at smallish venues. GEESE crowds can get bonkers.

More recently, frontman, Cameron Winters, released the critically acclaimed solo album, Heavy Metal, supported by various intimate live dates. As great as that is, the news that GEESE has been actively working on new material and will be hitting the road again is more than welcome.

Presale tickets and VIP package sales begin Wednesday, June 25, at 10am local time, with all tickets on sale Friday, June 27, at 10am local. Check GEESEBAND.COM for early access and to purchase.

More info on the upcoming album will be arriving soon.
