PEDAL ERROR: EPISODE #20 [BBQ Time] – MAY 9, 2018
The latest episode of my weekly music-based radio program includes jazzy synth funk, electro noise rap, 80s Rhode Island seascape synth, exploration of the foley arts, a pro-skater-turned-downtempo groove maestro, psychedelic nuns, a block of choice BBQ-related cuts, orchestrations from a blind homeless viking, & more
You motherfuckers like BBQ?!!!
Today is already Wednesday again, which, along with indicating that this whole dying slowly thing seems to be picking up a bit, means that I also just pushed out another episode of my weekly radio show, Pedal Error, which I host under the name of DJ Crack Fox. As usual, I broadcast the program from 11am to 1pm on Wednesdays, from Hollow Earth Radio (KHUH-LP 104.7FM), located in the central district in Seattle. As I discussed semi-recently, I’m going to be moving this thing to a bi-weekly operation, since I’m slightly overwhelmed with various responsibilities at the moment, and this world is eviscerating me, my guys. It’s basically a situation of not wanting my vision for the program — the range of content, the transitions into and between material, the research/background info, etc. — to begin suffering, due to me being spread too thin, and a belief that I might be able to prevent that from happening by doubling my window to prepare for and cobble it all together. The way that I’ve been accommodating this lack of time so far, up to this point, is that I simply don’t sleep… “cuz sleep is the cousin of death.” [No, but seriously… I’m genuinely fucking exhausted .]
But… how ’bout we just get straight into this, eh? You’ll get enough of my chatter on the show itself.
This marks the 20th episode of Pedal Error and this week features music from a jazz man gone synth funk, Sac Town electro noise rap, a UK rapper/actress, 80s Rhode Island seascape synth, a drum n bass pioneer exploring the foley arts, a pro-skater-turned-downtempo groove maestro, psychedelic nuns, a block of choice BBQ-related cuts, orchestrations from a blind homeless viking, and more. Peep it out below.
When you listen the show, there are always plenty of references made during it, and, sometimes, you can find more about here on the site. This time… not so much, but if you’re interested in my recent post about the new Death Grips track, “Streaky,” and details behind the album itself, you can find that HERE.
Most importantly, please make sure to check out Hollow Earth Radio. There’s a lot of good stuff going down. It’s non-profit, non-commercial radio with a ton of great programming and nobody else would likely ever let me have free reign to play whatever I feel like and present it the way that I feel that it needs to be done.
