PREVIEW – Spoke Art Presents: “BAD DADS 3”
The 3rd annual art tribute to the films of Wes Anderson will feature over 75 works in various mediums & a 2 day Halloween party/opening w/costume contest
Andrew Spear – “Aladdin Sue-Sain Zissou”
colored pencil, pen & ink – 15″ x 11″ – $800
Wes Anderson has honed his own unmistakable aesthetic over the years, which makes it all the more fascinating to witness so many different artists with so many incredibly distinct approaches of their own, craft interpretations of the filmmaker’s work through their own unique filters. The full show will feature over 75 different works in various mediums that consist of everything from oil, acrylic, and velvet paintings to sculptures, plush figures, prints, paper collage, and more. Contributing artists will consist of favorites like Andy Kehoe, Bruce White, Scott Campbell, Casey Weldon, and Rich Pellegrino, along with a hefty amount of highly impressive talent that should allow for almost everyone to be bowled over by at least one new artist for the time. We’ve seen the collection and I feel that it’s safe to say that BAD DADS 3 is quite possibly the best installment of this already amazing exhibit yet.
