Video of the Month (June ‘07)

Posted by Dead C | Music, PSA, Politics, The Web, With Video | Saturday 30 June 2007 11:15 am

There’s always some video that we can’t stop watching.  This month it has been the 2004 rap video for the song “Hell Yeah” from the always cracka hatin’ rap duo Dead Prez.

The song is great and the video is hilarious.  Plus it’s all about scammin’ shit, so I have to love it.

The Salty Yellow Death.

When I was 16 years old a friend of mine slapped some microwave popcorn in one of the first generation microwaves (pre-digital, all knobs). The goddamned thing was notorious for not shutting off at the agreed time, and would nuke the shit out of everything and anything not monitored. After ten minutes on the highest setting, the microwave transmorphed the kernels into charcoal and a minute after that the smoke detector began to squeal it’s horrible life saving song. The smell of burnt carbon stayed in the house for a day and no amount of pine scented air freshener could cover it up.

The city of Seattle is currently debating banning the use of microwave popcorn in all government buildings, due to the increasing number of fire alarms set off by smoldering microwave popcorn. Imagine sitting at your desk, checking your myspace (facebook…singles classifieds…favorite asian snuff film) page and avoiding work at all costs and having that interrupted by a fire alarm. You grab your coffee mug and head outside into the rain wondering if the terrorists have struck again while the fire department searches the building.

Leakin’ like a UTI (Michael Moore’s Sicko)

Last night I watched the new Michael Moore documentary SICKO about the flaws of the United States healthcare system. You may be wondering to yourself about how I could “watch a film with a release date of June 29th already?” Did we swipe it off of the internet? I suppose the simple answer would be, “YES! We fucking stole it!” Or, at least, I watched a version that was pirated by “someone”. We here at MonsterFresh.com, however, suspect that there is possibly much more to this question, which is a topic I will address much later in this article.

I met Michael Moore a few years back when he came to speak at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wa. He was late to arrive (more…)

The perfect home for your nuclear family

So lets face it. The world is going to shit faster than a trucker at an all you can eat buffet/casino/gas station/strip club in Montana. Are you gonna be a Johnny Do or a Johnny die? Only the strong and smart will survive, the rest of you douchebags are doomed to total destruction. At least it will be a quick death, that is unless you become a Johnny Do and prepare for the future of real estate. Go get a pen and paper and get ready to copy these words down if you want to provide a safe future for you and your family. Go on, I’ll wait. You ready? OK, now put your pretty little eyes as close to your computer screen as possible and concentrate on what I am about to type: Abandoned Atlas and Triton Missile Silos!

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia…but that’s Hollywood

Posted by Dead C | TV | Saturday 9 June 2007 7:49 am

For those of you who are unaware, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is a television program on the FOX owned basic cable channel, the FX Network. It began airing in 2005 and the concept centers around 3 guys who own and run a bar in Philadelphia, along with one of their sisters, played by ex-Groundling, Kaitlyn Olson.

The plot-lines contain some relatively subversive subject matter and involve the characters engaging in such schemes as framing their childhood gym teacher for molestation, going to pro-life rallys to pick up women, and becoming crackheads to gain wellfare benefits. All of these acts are performed or attempted with generally little or no repercussion. (more…)

Flight of the Conchords (Tenacious ZEA?)

Posted by Dead C | Music, Reviews, TV | Wednesday 6 June 2007 7:49 pm

I recently received an email to attend a private screening of a new HBO comedy series called FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS. Over the years I have worked my way onto various press and email lists, so I will occasionally get emails like this one for invite only events. There were two things in the email that really piqued my interest about this show. Those things were where it said “Open Bar” and “Free Food”. My broke ass decided to take my lady out for a night on the town. The premiere was held at Seattle’s bar/concert venue known as the Rendevous/Jewel Box theatre on June 5th.
